    Step-by-step instruction for beginners

So, let's move to the main question - how to make decoupage on a bottle. Below is a step-by-step instruction.

    1. First you need to get rid of all the labels. To do this, let's drop the bottle into soapy water for half an hour, then use sandpaper to remove all paper and glue marks. After that, wipe the bottle with a solvent to remove all traces of fat.
    2. Primer is not necessary if the pattern looks good on the glass. To make the picture bright and more embossed, the bottle must be primed. Having drenched the sponge with paint, ground the bottle, or the part on which the picture will be placed. For a greater color saturation, 2-3 layers are needed.
    3. Next, cut out the picture, if you use napkins, then you need to carefully separate part of the napkin from the pattern from the rest of the paper. If you use magazine cuttings, then they need to be covered with several layers of varnish and let go into warm water. The varnished surface is separated from the soggy paper and carefully glued to the bottle.
    4. In order to paste an image, apply a dry napkin( or varnished part of the picture) onto a dry bottle and cover with glue using a brush. It is necessary to remove all air bubbles and gently wrinkle the wrinkles, if they are formed. Do not rush to break the paper.
    5. In order not to damage the drawing, it is necessary to fix it with varnish. Apply the varnish to the bottle in three layers.
    6. Then leave the bottle to dry. It may take a while, but waiting is worth it.

How to make a 3D drawing on a bottle?

To make the drawing voluminous, you can use additional materials: rhinestones, fabric, ribbons, threads, dried flowers, etc. Rhinestones and flowers can be pasted in the right places, from tapes to make bows, or, having added, to lay out of them an ornament, you can fantasize endlessly.

You can also create unevenness on the bottle using the remaining paper in the third stage. To do this, we take a napkin or soggy remnants( you can even use toilet paper), tear to pieces and wet in a PVA glue. From the wet paper spread on the bottle and let dry.

Then continue the decoupage of the above steps. The result is a voluminous decoupage of bottles photo:

The resulting bottle can be used as a vase, decanter for drinks, or presented to friends. After all, everyone knows that the best gift is a gift made by oneself.
