We will have to start all the work again. So, for knitting beret you need two measures:

• Head circumference;
• Depth of the product.

The circumference of the head is measured by tight pulling of a centimeter tape from the frontal part of the head above the eyebrows, passing the most protruding occipital part and closing the tape around again on the forehead. The depth of the same product must be measured from the lobe of one ear, through the crown to the lobe of the other. Half of the obtained measurement is the depth of the product.

Knitting sample

Before you tie a crochet it is very important to do the following procedure. Be patient and tie the sample from the yarn that is prepared for the beret and the same crochet. This is done in order to correctly calculate the number of loops, as well as the increments and decreases necessary during knitting. The more the bound sample is, the more accurately the loops will be calculated and, accordingly, the better the ready beret will sit on the head. The minimum sample size is 10 by 10 centimeters. It is better to knit with the chosen pattern, and also it is necessary to connect a part with a rubber band to calculate the loops for it, otherwise it will either press or slide from the head. So, the bound sample is best washed, dried and ironed. Next, the number of columns in 1 centimeter in width and in height is calculated. Now the obtained data are multiplied accordingly by the measurements of the head circumference and the depth of the product.

The beret knitting is divided into such basic stages:

1. The bottom. It is a circle and is the main one in the beret style. Its creation consists in knitting a circle by a simple circle scheme with symmetrical increments. The diameter of the circle is determined based on the selected beret model, and the number of increments is calculated based on the measurements taken and the sample calculation.
2. Flat part. This knitting in a circle without any increases or additions. This dressing smooths the bend of the beret. Its size depends on the chosen style of the headdress.
3. Decrease and knit gum. This process can be called directly opposite the knitting of the bottom. Here, the loops are reduced along the same lines, along which the increments of the bottom were made. Having tied up to the necessary size of a circle of a head it is possible to connect an elastic band.
