Decoupage of flower pots with their own hands: master class
Beautiful designer pots for home plants cost a lot of money, and not everyone can afford them. But if you want to decorate the "houses" for your flowers, then we suggest that you do decoupage of flower pots yourself.
These pots will decorate any windowsill and will look decent against the background of even the most beautiful flowers.
In this article you will learn how to make decoupage of a flower pot with napkins - a master class with a photo and step by step instruction will help you with this.
Master class for decoupling the flower pot
In order to make a pot in the decoupage technique, you will need the following materials:
- plastic flower pot
- decoupage napkin or
- card acrylic paint( interior, white, eg "Snowball")
- artistic acrylic paint( shadesgreen, beige, brown)
- lacquer varnish
- glue PVA or for decoupage
- acrylic lacquer
- wide, narrow and thin brush
- sandpaper or fine paper
- sponge
- scissors
Instructions for decoupage:
1. Take the pot and sand it with sandpaper so that the surface gets some roughness - the grip with the coating will be better.
2. Cover the pot with a thin layer of carlicel lacquer. Below, the photo shows how the lacquer should lie. Correctly, it will lie if the surface is well-stitched at the first stage of work.
3. While the varnish dries, we mix the paint: in white paint( about 1 cm in a plastic cup) add green and beige dyes - 1 drop. In the end, you should get a nice greenish-yellow tinge. This amount of paint is enough for all work.
4. On still not dried carlic lacquer carefully( that he did not move) we put a paint. Soon the varnish will dry, and cracks appear that resemble the bark of the birch. Let the pot dry( 30 minutes - 1 hour). We color the pot tray in the same color.
5. Cut out the napkins to borrow.
6. Add a beige color to our paint and apply a paint using a sponge - this will be the basis, the background for the bunny. A sponge simply needs to "blot" the pot, and not smear the paint. So we will achieve the spray effect.
7. Take the napkin and separate the top layer with the pattern. We glue the hares with a brush, making sure that the napkin does not crumble.
8. Dropping the green dye into the paint, draw the grass on the background and the pallet. Using a sponge or a thick brush, you can draw foliage.
9. With brown paint, or paint with a brown dye added to it, draw with a fine brush the trees and paint the edge of the pot and tray. Leave the paint to dry.
10. When the paint dries, we cover the pot with acrylic varnish, otherwise the paint can be peeled off.
So, we are finishing the decoupage of a plastic pot, which from ordinary and boring turned into a design thing.
Similarly, any other pot, for example ceramic or clay pot, can be sealed.

So, we get a stylish flower pot, decorated in the technique of decoupage.
