Description of work

Cut the bottom of cardboard 3 mm thick with the size you want to make a casket, for example 20 × 20 cm.

We glue all the parts together, glue the short walls between the long ones.

In order for the box to last a long time and not fall apart, it is necessary to strengthen it at the bonding points with glue-coated PVA on the sticky side of the paint tape. Here's what should happen:

Then you need to cut out a strip of watercolor paper or a paper, the length of which should be equal to the sum of the length of all sides of the box, and the width to the height of the rim.

Next, bend this part so that it wraps the edges of the box. On the fold lines, in order for them to be even, you need to hold a sharp object.

Next, you need to cut the fabric to the size equal to this long piece + 2 cm from each edge.

Stick the fabric with PVA glue to the long part, smooth out well, expel all bubbles, try on.

Gradually, greasing each side of the part, gently glue with PVA glue.

On the last side of the part, glue the end of the fabric inside and paste.

To get a better fit, the end of the part can be glued to the moment.

Then you need to turn the box upside down and stick the first 2 opposite sides, then the 2 remaining ones, trying to carefully fold the corners.

Next, after making incisions in the corners of the fabric, gently glue the fabric inside.

We decorate the box inside. To do this, cut out a 1 mm piece from the cardboard, which will be 4 mm higher than the sides, but the length equal to the sum of all sides( we act the same as with the outer part).

Cut fabric for this part, allowances of 1.5 - 2 cm

Stick the fabric to the cardboard and cut off the corners like this:

Next, cut the bottom out of the Whatman paper, glue the fabric, cutting off the corners as follows:

Cover the part with a cloth and glue it to the jewelry box.

The lid is done in the same way as the casket. Its size should be equal to the size of the bottom.

Cut the fabric to the same size as the top cover piece and glue it.

Cut a frame 1 cm wide, the outer edge of which is the same as the top of the cover. Adhesive allowances from the inside and glue the frame to the lid.

The remaining allowances should be glued to the sides of the cover. Then again we need a long detail from the paper, whose width is equal to the height of the sides of the lid, and the length to the sum of their sides. Glue only the upper allowance and glue the part to the lid.

Bottom allowance to bend inside the box and paste.

Make the bottom of the lid( the same as the bottom of the casket) and glue the walls inside the lid( the same as the casket walls).
