Lawn cleans air, significantly increasing the oxygen content in it.

In the hot time of the day, the turfgrass evaporates a significant amount of moisture, which increases the humidity and reduces its temperature.

The lawn improves the composition of the subsoil layer of atmospheric air, killing microorganisms due to herbal-produced phytoncides.

The roots of lawn grasses hold the surface of the soil, preventing its dusting.

Lawns ennoble the garden space and serve as an ideal background for ornamental plants, emphasizing their beauty.

Lawns are the best, most environmentally friendly natural playground for children.

. Lawn can be broken all over the site in accordance with the plan for its improvement, in advance indicating the places for planting trees and shrubs and preparing pits for them. It can be created in a resting place, in front of the terrace, around the house. You can also make a small decorative lawn of unusual shape between the tracks or in the center of the garden composition, as decorated with flowering plants, it is very attractive.

The lawn device is started after leveling the surface of the land, building a dwelling house and utility rooms, laying roads and paths, planting trees and shrubs according to the plan.

To make the lawn of high quality - smooth, thick, without attacks, the soil under it is carefully prepared. The thickness of the fertile layer should be at least 20 cm, organic and mineral fertilizers are applied in the same quantities as for other garden crops for digging soil, since after sowing the herbs it is no longer possible to improve it. Soil is dumped on the bayonet of the shovel, fertilizers are applied at the rate of 4-6 kg / m2 pereprevshego manure, humus, compost and 50 g / m2 of complex fertilizers. Then the soil is again digested, carefully sealing the fertilizer.

Depending on the mechanical composition, clay or sand is added. Most lawn grasses normally develop at pH 5.6-6.8.Sour soils must be lime when preparing. When digging the soil, it is necessary to remove all the rhizomes of perennial weeds, especially such as wheat grass, dandelion sow, and horse sorrel.

In the wetland areas under the fertile soil layer, lay a 10 cm layer of gravel to create a drainage layer, and on sandy clay or heavy loamy soil a layer of 5-8 cm. This technique is called the creation of a clay castle. When creating a lawn on heavy clay soils, they should be improved by adding sand, peat, compost, mineral fertilizers.

When the soil is ready, its surface is leveled with a rake, and then with an edge of a wooden ruler, moving it between boards placed along the edges of the lawn. The center of the lawn should be slightly above the edges. After treatment, the soil should settle for 2-4 weeks. If the crop is led immediately after the leveling of the soil, then its surface is compacted( rolled up).A smooth log can serve as a homemade skating rink.

After treatment of the soil surface, it is better to roll it with a roller. This procedure allows you to immediately identify all surface irregularities that should be removed immediately. After this, it is necessary to let the soil settle. Before sowing, the soil surface should be re-loosened by rakes.

Sow grass grass in spring and summer. For spring sowing, the soil under the lawn is prepared in the autumn so that it can settle evenly for the winter. In the summer they sow till mid-August, which allows the grasses to take root well before the onset of frost. Plant a lawn with one kind of herbs or a mixture of them. For lawns use grassy grasses with fine delicate leaves: bluegrass onion, red fescue, white and ordinary whitegrass, ryegrass pasture.

For the creation of long-standing lawns suitable herbs that can grow in one place without losing their decorative qualities for at least 10-12 years.

The soil before sowing seeds must be loosened, but on its surface there should not be lumps larger than a pea, otherwise it will cause uneven distribution of seeds across the area.

Seeding rates for lawn grass seeds( g / m2)

    Grassland grassland 20

    Fescue fescue 20-25

    Fescue onion 30-40

    Rigrass grazing 30-40

    Feces white 15-20

Stages for the creation of the lawn

    1. When preparing a patch for lawn, the soil must be thoroughly digged to the depth of the bayonet bayonet.

    2. Dredge the rake surface by raking, breaking large clods of earth.

3 - Select the rhizomes of perennial weeds.4. Directly before sowing seeds, loosen the surface of the plot with rakes.5 - Seeds must be sown manually by hand.

    6. After sowing, lightly seed the seeds in the soil with short light rake movements.

    7. Seal the seeds in the soil with the help of planks attached to the shoes.

    8. Seeds can also be compacted by rolling with the help of a hand roller.9 - For a friendly and timely emergence of seedlings, crops should be watered.

    10. The first mowing is carried out at the height of the grass stand of 10-15 cm.

Excessive drying of the soil at the moment of sowing also adversely affects the germination of the seeds. Therefore, if after a superficial loosening you are convinced that the soil is dry, it should be watered. The rolling of the soil, preceding the sowing, creates a compacted subsoil bed, which contributes to seeding the seeds to the same depth and optimal for each species. This ensures the emergence of timely and friendly shoots. Seeds are sown by hand, so do it in windless weather. Seeds are seeded under the rake to a depth of 1-2 cm. Large seeds( fescue, ryegrass) are closed to a depth of 2 cm, small( bluegrass, periwinkle) - up to 1 cm. Components of the lawn mixture are not sown simultaneously: first large-seeded, then small-seeded.

For cereals with small seeds, giving late and unfriendly shoots, such as meadow grass, higher seed rates are recommended. It is better to spend a little more seeds, than then to fill the appeared bald spots on the lawn surface.

After sowing, the seeds are lightly ground into the soil with a short, light movement, and then trailed with the help of plaited plates or rolled. If there is dry weather, crops should be poured from a hose with a small nozzle or a watering plant. Take care that water jets do not wash seeds from the soil.

    Grass mixtures

The variant of the sown mixture is important for the quality of the lawn in the future. Not all grass mixtures are suitable for our soil-climatic conditions. So, for example, many experts consider unsuitable for the creation of high-quality long lawn grass mixtures with the predominance of seeds of rye grass or white grass in them. As preferred and recommended, grass mixtures of the following composition should be used:

    bluegrass( 30%), ryegrass pasture( 30 %), fescue red( 30%), bent grass( 10 %);

    bluegrass( 30%), red fescue( 30 %), ryegrass grazing( 40 %).

Very good results are obtained by mulching crops with a thin layer of compost, humus or light peat, which do not contain seeds of weeds. The mulching layer keeps moisture in the soil, not allowing its surface to dry out. As a result of the constant moisture regime under the mulch, the seeds germinate faster and more harmoniously.

As a mulch, a transparent( transparent) polyethylene film can be used which, after emergence, is removed so that the seedlings do not stretch. Seeds of lawn grasses germinate very slowly. For example, shoots of bluegrass meadow in normal conditions appear a month after sowing. Therefore, in dry weather, the lawn needs to be watered, but very carefully, so as not to wash off the seeds. After the appearance of mass shoots, the lawn should be inspected and, in places of attack, additional grass should be sown.
