Phototherapy - Causes, symptoms and treatment. MF.
ultraviolet irradiation of blood( UBI) , intravenous laser irradiation of blood ( VLOK) , infrared laser irradiation skin, superficial organs and soft tissue.
HISTORY METHOD
Phototherapy refers to an ancient method that people use in the treatment of various diseases. Thanks to the modern achievements of science, the mechanisms of the influence of light on the body have become clear. Light radiation of different lengths in its own way affects the biochemical processes in the body. The greatest impact has a soft ultraviolet and red radiation. The simplest method is sunbathing.
However, not all diseases are cured by natural light sources. Since the middle of the 18th century, experiments have begun on the irradiation of blood and body cavities. Since the 30s of the twentieth century, phototherapy has become one of the standard methods of physiotherapy. And only now, with the creation of portable instruments, the indications for the use of light therapy have sharply expanded. To date, there are two main groups of devices using light for medical purposes. In some, light produces luminescent lamps, in others laser LEDs. Due to various design solutions, apparatuses of different manufacturers have their disadvantages and advantages, which, however, in most cases does not affect the effectiveness of treatment. MECHANISMS OF GENERAL
Underlying phototherapy biostimulating effect on the change in the energy state of molecules in the absorption of light quanta. The most active effect on the body is the radiation of the ultraviolet and red spectrum.
Among these effects should be noted:
- Improved blood microcirculation
- Activation of metabolic and reparative processes
- anti-inflammatory and immunostimulatory effect
- bactericidal and bacteriostatic effect
Thus, these methods are universal and can be both primary and secondary treatment of the majority of various etiology of the disease. Because, not all patients have the same reaction to treatment, careful examination and dynamic control are required during the therapy. The appearance of unwanted reactions requires adjustment or cancellation of therapy. Procedures are performed only as directed by a physician.
