• Weak vision

    Relaxation can help even the most serious states of vision, as it relieves stress from the psyche, body and eyes. Relaxation will help your doctor in your treatment. So do not be afraid - relaxation can not hurt. It will only add to your comfort and nothing more. For many, it returned from the kingdom of darkness to sight.

    One day I was brought to see a nice elderly gentleman. Even before he crossed the threshold of the office, I received a letter from his daughter. She wrote that if I can not help him, I will not talk to him, then when I return home, he will commit suicide. For seven years now, he could not even distinguish light from darkness. I directed the strongest light that I had, and asked him: "Do you see the light?" "I feel the heat, but I do not see any light," he replied. I gave him a little relaxation and again repeated the whole process. He still did not see any light. Then I immediately gave him a full relaxation course, teaching him solarization, palming and auxiliary exercises, which he had to do at home. I asked him to do these exercises every hour for 6 months. I asked him also when he sees the light, call me. This gentleman was a diabetic, old, sick man and, frankly, giving him such a tough program, I did not expect to hear his voice again, thinking that he would do what he was told for a day or two and then give up. Five weeks later, his voice sounded in the phone: "Mrs. Corbett, I saw the light!" He immediately came to my office, and we began to train his vision. He worked very actively, doing every exercise at home, to which I taught him. Vision began to return to him, so at a certain stage he could see not only his clenched fists and hands, but also individual fingers on them.

    After many months, he developed his vision so that he could distinguish and draw tiny letters only half an inch in height, albeit at close range from his eyes, but with real vision. It may seem that the vision of small letters is an achievement not so important for an old, blind person, but, on the other hand, it was a great reward for him. He could now see the dishes and silver on the table, see cars passing by, windows and doorways, he finally got a chance to walk outside. More than once he had glimpses of really good vision. One day he came all shining to his studies to report that during a glimpse he saw two of his grandsons three and four years old, who had never seen blindness in his life."I could not even guess what clever faces these tricksters" - he said excitedly. Several times he clearly saw his daughter's face and once, when he shaved, he saw his face in the mirror clearly.

    For a person with normal vision, these achievements may seem insignificant, but for a person who has not seen anything other than darkness for seven years, they meant a lot. It is difficult to say how his development will go further, but his current achievement proved to be very valuable for his serious condition. First of all, it should be noted the disappearance of a constant pain, which had been haunting him for years.

    For you, people suffering from serious vision problems, the most important part of training is palming. At first, you may be too nervous that you could not make a palm. So calm your nerves beforehand by making turns.


    Do you remember the movements used when playing the accordion? Draw this game. Gently squeeze your fingers and alternately spread your arms wide apart, then bring them together. Alternately point the tip of your nose to one hand when it goes to the side and goes back, then to the other. Humming to yourself some melody, as if you are actually playing an accordion. If your vision is too weak to see your fingers, use your fists and bring them closer to your eyes so you can achieve a more specific reaction.


    If you can not distinguish between the fingers of your hand with difficulty, fold your palms in front of your face like in prayer and turn your head from side to side, turning your eyes four turns, and opening the next four doors. Then you can achieve the illusion of movement. Your palms will cross your face, moving in one direction, then the other. Direct the light from the bright light source that is behind your back to your hands. With very poor eyesight, you will sometimes have good eyesight during these turns. Try to achieve this. This exercise can not hurt and brings a deep relaxation, often relieving pain in the head and eyes, regardless of whether you see your hands or not.


    Do you walk with a cane? Keep the cane parallel to the floor in front of your face. One hand holds a cane at one end, the other behind the other. Now turn your nose and glide your attention along the entire length of the cane, from one hand to the other, the eyes alternately open and close. The cane will seem moving from side to side.

    All these twists can be done 12 times a day with good results, because they are relaxing, not physical exercises and do not tire the eye. Check yourself, do you really perform them as relaxing exercises, i.e. softly, easily, rhythmically and without forgetting about deep breathing. They should improve your state of health.

    Now you will be ready for the palm. Read or ask someone to read carefully to you the rules and purposes of palming. If you really want to help yourself, then do a daily palming every 10 minutes, and if it is possible, then longer. What you think about when your eyes are covered with your hands is very important. Do not think about your eyes! Instead, turn on the radio and listen to some soft music or one of your favorite programs. If you are tired of the radio, please enjoy yourself by engaging in a mental performance. You can recall the clock face. Imagine the position of the arrows at 12 o'clock, 12:30, 1: 0, 1:30 and so on, thus passing a full circle. Then ask yourself some other problem, for example, draw in the mind the hands of the clock at the position 2:35, 4:45, 5:10, 6:19, etc.


    Recollecting some form helps the vision. Remember the alphabet, consisting of capital letters. Now "draw" the nose in the air with the capital letter "D", without removing your palms from your eyes. Mentally puncture holes in the top of the letter "D" and the tips of its base. Draw the letter "E".Pierce holes at each point of intersection of the lines forming this letter: at the top, in the middle and at the bottom. Pierce the holes and at the tips of the appendages of this letter. Walk around the alphabet and you will see that this is not only a pleasant, but also very useful exercise for the development of the mental representation of forms.


    One of my clients was very fond of presenting any situations in my mind. I say: "He got up in the doorway and looks around the room."My student immediately described the picture presented to him, described the kind of room, the arrangement of windows, door handles, people in the room, etc. I say: "He stood on deck, lazily leaning on the railing under the warm sun of the southern sea."My phrase gave rise to a new flight of his imagination and life experience. And you try to imagine such a situation: "She strolls along wet sand along the coast".Now give yourself the task. You will find that such an activity during the palming is quite interesting and evokes in memory events that you even forgot that you once experienced them.


    Solarization training is the most important thing that can make the eyes weaken to improve their vision. The sun is the greatest healer of all parts of the body and especially the eyes, which are designed to perceive and use light. If your eyes experience light hunger and you wear sunglasses, as it is often advised to do to people with poor eyesight, you need to be extremely gentle, re-accustoming your eyes to the brightness of light. Look at the article on solarization. At first do solarization, taking sunlight only on closed eyelids and making two turns in the sun and four in the shade. If you do this every day, every hour during which you will be able to do this, it will not take long before your eyes simply demand the brightest sunlight, enjoying it. Immediately after each solarization, do the palming, the time is twice as long as you solarized. Stop solarising as soon as you feel some unpleasant sensation. Remember the rule - a little, but often, i.e.moderation should be in everything.


    LOOK Find in the room some well-lit object. Sit in front of him so that the light falls behind you, and close enough that you have very little to see this object. Now do the palming, slowly counting to five. After that, remove your hands and, turning your head from side to side, glance back and forth on the object. Do this until you score five. Repeat this many times without leaving your place and alternately doing palming, then casting a look. Do not make any effort and do not try too much. Your business is only to help eyesight. Five minutes will be enough for you to enjoy this exercise. And maintain the feeling of an easy and enjoyable game during this exercise.
