Ivy
For families where passion rushes
Ivy adjusts for good communication, prevents quarrels
This plant will help spouses who often quarrel or argue. Ivy neutralizes conflicts, relieves tension. Under the influence of ivy, the energy of the house becomes softer, and people are more benevolent and tolerant of each other. And although the ivy does not cool, but only normalizes the emotional background, do not keep it in the bedroom, it is better to find a place in the living room or in the kitchen.
Ivy should be given to the newlyweds as a "preventive" plant, so that misunderstandings do not turn into serious quarrels.
Features of care
The plant is shade-tolerant, but with a small amount of light it develops very slowly. In the bright sun, the leaves fade and even acquire a reddish tinge. Ivy grows well both in cool and in warm rooms.
Ivy needs support. If you do not take care of the "cultural" support, the ivy will begin to suck the adorned roots to the wallpaper, the paneling of the balcony, trying to reach the light.
A young plant will develop better with an annual transplant into a light nutrient soil mix. Propagate ivy cuttings.
Family araliaevye. Genus of ivy.
Natural climatic conditions: dry and humid subtropics of Europe, Asia and America.
Wood-pollen liana;young shoots are pubescent, stems have sucker roots, by means of which ivy is attached to the support, fertile shoots of such roots are deprived;the leaves are regular, mostly five-lobed( the blades may be 3-7), leathery, the original species has dark green with lighter veins, varieties have different colors, including variegated ones, for example Grazier, which has leaves withwhite spots;flowers in spherical umbellate inflorescences, plain, greenish-yellow.
Relatively unpretentious plant.
Requirement for moisture: moderate watering and spraying in summer. Too much watering leads to yellowing.
Temperature regime: can carry different temperature conditions, grows well within the range of 14 to 24 ° C.At a colder temperature, the growth is slow, but the color of the leaves is brighter, at high temperatures - vice versa.
Light mode: generally unpretentious plant, but in the shade of variegated varieties, the color fades.
Requirement for soil: optimal soil mix from soddy and humus land with peat and sand in the ratio of 2.1: 1: 1, but other options are possible.
Propagation: cuttings with aerial roots, which are rooted in the sand;can be whole shoots, which are buried in the substrate;vaccination.
Features: for vertical landscaping needs support. The presence of aerial roots allows to give the plant unusual shapes, for example, ring-shaped: for this part of the two shoots near the tops with roots are buried in the upper part of the future ring, while the very tip remains free, on the sides the stems are tied to the support or rope attachments. Thus it is possible to give garlands of ivy a shape in the form of different patterns. The original plant can be obtained by grafting it to a high stock of aralia.
