Manufacture of the Waldorf doll

Due to the fact that the Waldorf doll is primarily designed for children, it is made exclusively of natural fabrics and materials. And yet, how to sew a Waldorf doll with your own hands? Follow our instructions and you will succeed.

1. To sew a doll, we will need a pattern.

2. After the templates are ready, they need to be attached to the cloth, as in the picture below:

3. Make a head. It must be very tight and firm, so it is important to properly prepare the stuffing. To do this, you need to take a tangle of yarn( any that is no longer useful), wrap it several times with batting, wool, sintepon( your choice).It is important to ensure that the edges of the stuffing material are collected in the place where the neck of the doll is next. Then the received packing is put in носочек, and all edges are tightened tight.

If the child is still small, then the head may remain as it is at this stage, but if we make a doll for an older child, we need to mark the shape of the future face of the pupa by threading it in the right places.

Next, the pupa's head needswrap with a fabric of corporal color( preferably knitted fabric).

The piece of jersey needs to be folded 2 times, the occipital stitch is sewn, then the wrapping cloth is put on the doll's head, and it is sewn on the neck and in the occipital part.

4. Make the face. Eyes and mouth can be sewed with threads. Rotik embroidered only a few stitches, eyes are embroidered according to the following scheme:

The needle is inserted into the head of the doll at a distance from the face and leaves where there will be a glazik, then the thread passes to the place of the second eye, and after it is embroidered, Through the head to the nape and, leaving a small tip, cut off.

You can also use beads or beads for eyes and mouth.

Spout is not necessary, but if you plan - you need a small wool ball / batting to attach to the head at the stage of harvesting.

5. Make the torso. To make the doll look more proportionate, it is necessary that the length of its body is 3 times the head. Sew the details better than a small zigzag, and sew clearly on the edge of the parts. You do not need to sew the top of the body and pens. Legs, pens and trunk are stuffed with batting or sintepon.

6. We collect the doll. It is necessary to combine the head with the hands and trunk of the doll. They are sewn with a double thread.

To get a tummy and a straight back, it is necessary that the fabric is stretched very tightly on the back.

7. Details. To make the doll look as natural as possible, you need to take into account the small details. If you sew the legs of the doll at the base and on the knees, it will be able to sit and be more mobile.

8. Make hair for our doll. One of the easiest is to stick the strips of scotch on the strip, cut in one length( as in the photo), and then flash them:

Waldorf butterfly doll

For the youngest kids, the butterfly doll is perfect.
