Arterial hypotension
Arterial hypotension is a disease that manifests itself by lowering the pressure below the level of 100/60 mm Hg. Art.
The causes of this disease can be: exhaustion of the body, chronic intoxication, neurosis, alcoholism. The effect of hereditary predisposition on the formation of arterial hypotension is also monitored.
For reasons of onset, arterial hypotension is divided into primary and secondary, that is, arising from such diseases as peptic ulcer, anemia, hepatitis, Addison's disease, liver cirrhosis. Acute arterial hypotension can be identified along the course - fainting, or collapse. And chronic, which manifests a decrease in efficiency, increased fatigue and a high risk of ischemic stroke( a stroke that occurs as a result of oxygen starvation of the brain). This disease manifests itself lethargic, apathetic condition, decreased ability to work, increased fatigue and frustration. Also characteristic is a decrease in memory, a sense of lack of air, sexual disorders( decreased sexual desire, impotence in men and the menstrual cycle in women). Also, patients are irritable, they are sensitive to loud sounds and bright light. Headache is aggravated by overeating and prolonged stays in an upright position. It subsides during quiet walks in the fresh air, physical exertion. Also improve the condition may be ice or a cold towel attached to the head. Diagnosed arterial hypotension based on the data of regular pressure measurement, as well as on the detection of secondary diseases, against which hypotension developed. It is also necessary to carry out ECG and echocardiography.
Treatment consists in the use of the following drugs:
• Adrenomimetics for vasoconstriction and, correspondingly, increased blood pressure.
• Means that excite the CNC, to combat fatigue, apathy and decreased efficiency.
• Hormones of the adrenal cortex.
• Physiotherapy and sanatorium treatment.
Prophylactic measures for arterial hypotension:
1. Compliance with the regime of the day and diet.
2. Refusal to smoke and abuse of alcoholic beverages.
3. Physical therapy, outdoor exercise, contrast shower.
