How to make a cylindrical bed and what can be grown in it?

You can roll a cylinder from a piece of roofing paper 3 m long, put it vertically, tie it in two or three places so that it does not fall apart. Then the lower part( about two thirds) of the cylinder must be filled with all sorts of trash. Old shoes will fit, only not rubber, pieces of cardboard, crumpled newspapers, unnecessary torn magazines, old clothes made from natural cloth, shavings, twigs, wooden construction cuttings, old stumps, cut to pieces and so on. All this has to be rearranged with a waste( infertile) soil, gradually( by handful every 30-40 cm), pouring superphosphate and watering.

The top of the cylinder, not reaching 10-12 cm to the top edge, must be filled with good, fertile soil or with a rotted compost. In the center, drive a pipe or pole to a depth of 50 cm, leaving another meter on top. On the circumference, after stepping from the edge of 10 cm, sow the seeds of cucumbers - about 15-20 cm apart. Cover the cylinder with a film and secure it with a rubber band, so that the wind does not blow away. Since the frost goes along the soil, then on the meter height, there is nothing threatening the shoots, and from below the biofuel introduced by you will begin to rot, so that the cucumbers will be warm.

When the cucumbers begin to support the film, remove it, and on the pole tie a loutrasil with a width of about 1.5-2 and a length of about 4 m. Spread it around the entire circumference of the cylinder, leaving the edges on the south side, and fix it on the ground with stones. Scourge of growing cucumbers over time will throw out. In the afternoon you will push apart the lutrasil, leaving it only on the north side, and close for the night. Thus, on an area of only one square meter, you placed 15-20 plants, which would require a garden about four meters long in a greenhouse or a greenhouse.

It is not necessary to put such tall cylinders, you can cut the ruberoid in half and install two cylinders 45-50 cm high or put 3-4 old car tires on top of each other. In low cylinders you can place zucchini and pumpkins, 2-3 plants in each garden. Such cylindrical beds look very elegant and serve several years. We only need to remember that they freeze through, and therefore in the spring before sowing they must be well poured hot water( using at least two buckets).

If you have a metal mesh left from the fence, you can also roll a cylinder about half a meter high from it, fixing the mesh on three pipes or poles, which should be drilled into the soil to a depth of about 50 cm, otherwise the wind can block the grid.

Before installing the grid, remove a layer of turf about a meter in diameter from the ground. You can then lay it on the outside of the net with turf down. You do not have to dig the soil, just loosen it with pitchforks. The roots of perennial weeds need to be removed and poured a layer of nutrient soil about 20-25 cm high. Plant in the center seedlings of cucumbers or tomatoes, just 3-4 plants, or a couple of zucchini. Now put a mesh cylinder over them. To care for the plants was more convenient, leave in the grid a gap on the south side. If the illumination is not sufficient, then on the inner side of the cylinder from the north side a light reflective film of the company "Shar" is fixed in a semicircle, which will serve two purposes at once: improvement of illumination( approximately 1.5 times) and protection against cold. Now it is enough that the sun illuminates the cylinder from the south.
