Rosette of bright green elongated-oval leaves with rounded apex is crowned with unusually elegant single flowers on long peduncles. Coloring of flowers is gentle-lilac, the lower petals are large oval, the upper ones form a beak over a swollen globular core.

The shape and color of flowers in pemphigus are so refined, elegant and original that they are often compared to orchids. Especially spectacular are the flowers of U. cemetilla( P. fine-polka) resembling an open fan of a rich scarlet color, which is rare in pemphigans.

Blisters have one of the most difficult trapping machines. Traps are thin oval sacs, usually no more than 2-3 mm in size. The entrance hole of the trapping bubbles is surrounded by branched hairs-antennas and covered by a thickened valve opening only into the cavity of the bubble. On the outside of the valve are glands, which produce substances that attract waterfowl insects and other small animals. At the slightest touch, the valve opens and the "victim" with the current of water falls into the trap. It is impossible to open the valve from the inside.

Courtship. The vesicle needs bright diffuse light, but it feels well in the light penumbra, however, the color of the flowers becomes less bright.

The optimum temperature is 20-22 ° C, for epiphytes - up to 30 ° C.

As a substrate, use a mixture of sphagnum, fern roots, perlite and sand. A simpler version is a mixture of peat land and sand. Plants-epiphytes are best suited for a mixture of peat with perlite, and for terrestrial - peat soil with sand. The substrate is maintained at all times in the wet state. For planting use shallow containers, as the roots develop in the upper layers.

Pemphigus is tolerated with a low enough humidity compared to other insectivorous plants - up to 50-60%.

During the growing season, it is poured with soft water 2-3 times a week.

Aquatic species are cultivated as aldrogen. It is useful to increase the content of CO2 in water. To cause flowering, you need to increase the intensity of lighting.
