Aniridia is sometimes combined with congenital glaucoma due to the congenital pathology of the drainage system of the eye, which is the main way of outflow of moisture from the organ of vision.

Treatment of aniridia without glaucoma is the artificial creation of the pupil. For this purpose, it is recommended to wear an individually manufactured contact lens that is colored around the periphery, and in the center - transparent. This lens imitates the pupil.

The columboma of the iris is a defect in the form of the absence of the iris segment. As a rule, such a defect is located at the bottom, resembling a pear or keyhole in its form, than it differs from the acquired defect. The acquired coloboma of the iris can be located anywhere in the iris and is the result of an injury or operation. With congenital coloboma, both one- and two-sided lesions are possible. The visual acuity in the coloboma of the iris, as a rule, is somewhat reduced. No treatment was found.

Policia - multiple defects in the iris, which are additional( except for the pupil) openings. With this developmental abnormality, a person develops a certain visual discomfort and a slight decrease in vision. The pupillary membrane ( remains of embryonic tissue in the pupillary region) is often found in children. It can have a variety of forms, for example in the form of a web. Expressed and dense sections of the membrane, which are located in the central zone of the lens, can lead to a decrease in visual acuity. Treatment with such an anomaly of development, as a rule, is not carried out. In rare cases resort to microsurgical removal of the membrane.
