According to Article 43 of the current Constitution of Russia, we all have the right to education( and this right is not limited to preschool, basic general or secondary professional).However, higher education is no longer compulsory or free( with the exception of admission to a state or municipal educational institution on a competitive basis).Therefore, situations where young( and not very) people who do not go immediately after school or college to college, never get a diploma of higher education are quite common. Of course, there is still the opportunity to study in absentia( as they say, "without breaking away" from the main workplace), but modern employers are reluctant to release such students at the session( although this is contrary to the current Labor Code).

Another way out is to train externally in a university with strong abilities and talents, and also because it is necessary( if a new job or a "jump" on the career ladder urgently requires a diploma, and the purchase of "lime" can, with the appropriatecheck "turn around" a criminal case).

Terminology

The term "external studies" today means one of the forms of getting an education, which implies an accelerated self-study of programs in the chosen specialty of higher education with the obligatory passing of attestations( current and final) in a state-accredited university. At the same time, please note that attestation is not just one exam, but several( up to 20), in accordance with the chosen specialty in an educational institution.

At first glance, higher education in the form of external studies is very similar to correspondence education, but they have quite different differences:

• is an external program that allows one year to pass a program designed to study for a longer period( for example, two or more years);
• training in external studies can be completely independent, without "lecturing" the lecturer;
• eksternat not always "covers" all 5 or 6 years of the regular program of the university( the period of study and the schedule for passing attestations is established individually in each case);
• individual program of external studies allows to avoid attendance at lectures "for a tick" and does not depend on the time of sessions of the correspondence department of the university.

Do not forget that external studies are not minimal superficial knowledge, but an in-depth self-study of all subjects in accordance with the requirements set by this university to full-time education.

By the way, in the same way you can get if you want and the second higher education, significantly reducing the time from admission to the university before its completion. True, it is fully paid, but who will make the necessary amounts depends on the agreement between the student and the enterprise where he works( if the qualification is required in the position occupied by him).At the same time, part of the items "surrendered" during the training in the first university is counted as "automatic".

Diploma So, how do you get a degree from an external student?

First of all, it is necessary to carefully study the "STATE OF EXTERNALITY in State and Municipal Higher Educational Institutions of the Russian Federation"( the official annex to the order of the Ministry of General and Professional Education of the Russian Federation of 14.10.97 No. 2033, valid up to the present), which represents the legislative basis for yourfurther training.

The second step is to make sure that you are really able to master the program of the university in a shorter period of time and almost completely independently. Try to study the textbooks of any subject and test your ability to understand all its subtleties without the help of teachers. If everything went without any problems, then you can start looking for a suitable university. Otherwise, you will either have to abandon this idea, or hire yourself tutors for those subjects that you can not "master" yourself.

Additional difficulty in the process of upcoming training can create the presence of a permanent job, which takes a considerable amount of time( in this case it is better to choose the usual part-time form of training, since it will be very difficult to finish an institution with external studies).

Remember that not all universities that you like( with state accreditation) can provide such a form of training as an external one, so do not forget to clarify this question in the admissions offices. There are also restrictions on the list of specialties, which you can study independently.

The list of documents required for admission to the university, as well as the order of admission itself, are determined by the chosen educational institution and usually do not differ from receipts for full-time and correspondence courses.

Enrolling in a university and becoming a student, you start the most difficult in the training process: to self-preparation and passing attestations. In order to correctly distribute the forthcoming workload and time for preparation for exams and tests, the institution must provide you:

• certification plan,
• sample programs of studied disciplines,
• complete tasks for coursework, projects, abstracts and exams, for mandatory production and pre-diploma practice,and closer to the end of the training - and the assignment for a thesis project;
• list of performed laboratory works( if they are in the training program) and other training materials.

Like an ordinary student, you must have a record book( with the inscription or stamp "Externat") and, of course, a student card.

The next step is the delivery of the current certification( the date of which is established with the consent of the student).It includes:

• examinations and examinations in disciplines( written and oral);
• reviewing and receiving( protecting) the relevant control and other works( see the list just above).

The completion of the training is recorded by the final certification, which includes the passing of the state examination( including the examination of knowledge in several basic disciplines) and the defense of the thesis project, after which the student receives a diploma of the state sample about the graduation from the university.
