What toys a kid needs
The child's independent play of 1.5-3 years depends largely on how adults organize the object-game environment( ie, from the selection of toys and their location).
Among many parents there is a perception that the more toys a child has, the better it will play and the freer the adults themselves will be. In fact, this is far from the case. There is no point in giving strict prescriptions for a set of toys for an early child, but you can outline approximately the range of necessary items and the principles of their combination. This is primarily toy characters that imitate the child's game and replace the live partners( doll, bear, hare and other toys that can be treated as human beings - they can be put at the table, put in bed, led, holdingfor a paw, etc.), a set of dishes, a toy basin, a set of Doctor Aibolit, a set "Little Barber", a large truck, a set of plastic or wooden cubes of various sizes( or a building set), a cot and a stroller for a doll. As substitutes other than cubes, you can use a variety of sticks, rings from pyramids and any household items that, at the discretion of parents, can be placed at the disposal of the child. To indicate the playing space, a highchair can be used( in an inverted form, an excellent "machine"), an empty box( "garage" or "house" for somebody, or a "cot" for a large doll), a cushion and many othersthings that are always at hand. Here much depends on the ingenuity of adults, on their ability to use any subject for the game.
Even with a small set of toys and substitute items, you can build a lot of game stories.
Transfer of game actions from the game with an adult to the independent activity of the child requires that the object-game situation created by the adult is retained for some time. Therefore, it is important to take care of the permanent playground for the child, where it is possible to arrange doll furniture and toys accordingly. To create a game situation, you can use a children's table.
If the mother wants to ensure that the room is in perfect order and removes toys, or if the child does not have a permanent place to play, his independent activities are much more difficult to organize.
With a large number of toys( and this is very common, since every guest who comes to a family where there is a small child usually considers it his duty to bring a new toy), it is advisable to divide them into several equal sets and periodically( once in a 1-2 months) to change them.
In organizing the conditions for an independent story game, one should not forget about another kind of toys that provide the basic independent activities of a small child - a didactic toy.
