Nature generously endowed the human with muscles and calculation for their intensive exploitation, but not for long-term rest. It would be truly tragic if the life-supporting systems of the organism were adapted only to the conditions of rest. This would lead to the fact that the body of dust would not be able to cope with the often occurring situations that require intensive activity of certain systems.

Maintaining the muscular system in working order is necessary to ensure normal metabolism and prevent obesity. Working muscle is an insurmountable obstacle to fat deposits. Active muscular activity is accompanied by a number of biochemical processes that result in the formation of substances entering the bloodstream and exerting a stimulating effect on metabolic and oxidative processes, on the cardiovascular system and the function of the central nervous system.

All this allows us to conclude: it is necessary to maintain the body in a constant working condition, systematically applying the feasible physical load and using rational nutrition.

Physiotherapy for obesity is used to stimulate metabolism by increasing the rate of oxidation-reduction processes and increasing energy consumption, to improve the impaired functional state of the cardiovascular system and respiration, to reduce the body weight of the patient, to increase physical performance, to promote the normalization of fatand carbohydrate metabolism.

For the treatment of obesity apply morning hygienic gymnastics, therapeutic gymnastics, dosed walking, running, exercises on the simulators, special physical exercises in the pool, swimming in open water, hiking, rowing, biking, skiing, skating, mobile and sports games.

Before starting the exercise, you should consult a physician of physiotherapy.

The total physical load must be submaximal and individualized in accordance with the functional capabilities of the patient's body. For greater effectiveness, different forms of exercise therapy alternate throughout the day. The duration of each procedure of therapeutic gymnastics is from 5 to 45-60 minutes.

Patients with an I-II degree of obesity, previously engaged in physical training or sports, under the age of 40 years during training on the simulators recommend physical activity, which causes an increase in the heart rate( HR) by 75% of the initial heart rate( at rest). It should be 5-minute load alternating with 3-minute pauses for rest. The duration of the classes is 30-90 minutes. Course - 18-20 procedures.

Patients with exogenously-constitutional obesity of the third degree with concomitant diseases not physically prepared, at the age of up to 80 years, during physical training sessions, are recommended physical activity that causes a heart rate increase of 50% of the initial heart rate( at rest). In this case, alternate 3-minute loads with 5-minute pauses for rest. The duration of the lesson is 20-60 minutes. Course - 18-20 procedures.

Training on simulators should be combined with therapeutic gymnastics, special physical exercises for influencing abdominal muscles and other forms of exercise therapy.

Run for 1-2 minutes should alternate with walking and breathing exercises. Walking is carried out 2-3 times during the day, starting from 2-3 km and reaching gradually 10 km per day( fractional).

During walking, you can alternate fast walking with accelerated( 50-100 m), after which breathing exercises and quiet walking are recommended. Gradually, accelerated walking is increased to 200-500 m. After 2-3 months of training, jogging is shown starting from 25-50 m and gradually increasing to 300-500 m. It is expedient to run these jogs not simultaneously, but fractional during the day( runningis allowed at any time of the day, as well as in the evening).
