Origami dragon for beginners: a scheme and a detailed master class with video

It's no secret that origami art came to us from the East, where dragons are especially revered. No celebration can do without this sacred symbol. The history of this technique began with the use of figures in strictly religious rituals. This explains the existence of different models of dragons. Today I would like to share a simple way of making origami dragons, the scheme to which will be supplemented by a video lesson.

Of course, you can lay down the dragon in any technique that exists in this ancient art, but the most realistic models are obtained if you use modular origami.

Preparing for operation

Before we get to work, we need to prepare triangular modules, from which in the future we will assemble the dragon. The modules from the rectangle are assembled according to the scheme:

. In total, we need to prepare 767 corners for the work. As for the colors of the dragon, here you can only be guided by your imagination. I used 99 modules of yellow color, 421 - red, 48 - green, 104 - orange, 95 - black.

So, when everything is ready, go to the collection of the model. So that you do not have any difficulties, how to make an origami dragon, carefully follow the diagram:

Assembling a figure

I will try to paint every step as detailed as possible. Your task is to follow the instructions and do the job very carefully.

The assembly of the dragon begins with the tail. To 1 module of the first row, add 2 modules in the second row. In the third row, we reattach 1 module:

We repeat the order of the number of modules 2 more times.

Beginning on the 7th row, extend the tail of the dragon. In the next eight series, we start adding modules according to the scheme: 3 modules, 2 modules, 3 modules. At the red modules along the edges of the tail it is necessary to bend the free corners aside:

The tail in total should consist of 28 rows. Starting from the 23rd row, the tail again expands, that is, in each even row you need to attach 6 corners, and in odd number - by 5. Also carefully follow the diagram so that the pattern does not go astray:

Now proceed to assembling the torso of the dragon. We will collect it by links, so as not to get confused with the drawing. One link of the trunk consists of 16 rows, while the free corners of the red modules also need to be bent to the side, as well as on the tail:

In total there will be 6 links of the trunk. Those.from 29th to 124th series we collect the body. All links are then connected together:

With the 125th row, we begin to collect the head from 5 modules. In each following row, increase the number of corners. Continue adding 1 module to 131 rows, in which there should be 11 corners. After this, we begin to narrow the head, reducing the number of triangles. As a result, in the 141st row we must have 1 corner.

We will shape the head of the dragon with the help of a mustache. To do this, in 136, 137,138, 141 rows, insert 1 module on both sides and bend the free corner:

Now we begin to collect the dragon's paws. Only one paw, we need 8 corners. To the 2 nd corners of the first row we add 3 more modules in the second row, then 2 and 1 more. This is the construction:

We collect 3 more paws according to the same scheme:

So, all the details of the dragon are ready. Go to the assembly:

Thanks to the way of connecting the modules, the design can be given any bend:

As a result, we got this wriggling dragon:
