First, determine the place in the garden where your swan will be. It will not just be a garden decoration, a swan will have a fully functional purpose. It is a swan-pot from a plastic bottle, in which you can plant flowers. Just imagine how great it will look.
Getting started
Prepare the following materials:
Prepare the following materials:
- large plastic bottles of 5-6 liters
- wire diameter 0.6 mm
- metal mesh for wings
- putty
- spatula
- binder
- sand
- brush
Cut the bottle along in two, places for planting flowers should be as much as possible. Wrap the wire with the number "two" and insert it into the hole made in the plug. Fix with glue for ceramic tiles and for greater reliability from the inside, sprinkle stones or broken bricks.
Fill the hole with sand, which was previously moistened.
Under the weight of sand, the container should round and get the shape of the trunk of the future swan.
Place the work on the future swan with a film. Now mix the putty. The solution should be quite thick, because we have to sculpt it. The first layer is applied directly to the film - this will be the bottom of the flowerpot.
Put the bottle on the mortar and use a spatula to level the mortar from bottom to top. The spatula should be constantly wet, so it will be more convenient to work with it.
Next, we begin to form the neck. With wet hands, take the solution and cover it with a rod at the base.
Wet all the trimming with a wet brush.
Thus, close the entire surface of the bottle with a filler layer about two centimeters in length.
For the wings we have already prepared a grid of 15x30cm. We bend it, giving it the shape of a swan wing, apply it to the side and press it down. From the top immediately put a little putty to fix. Now you can rest a little while the putty does not grasp.
After the putty has dried, moisten the hands and begin to coat the solution with the wing. One hand works on the outside of the wing, and the second one supports the inside. Do not worry if you think that you are not doing very well. We'll fix all the flaws later.
Now let the wings rest, and we'll move on to making the neck. With a solution of putty, we gradually coat the neck.
Wet brush all the time we help ourselves.
While working with a wet bandage wrap the neck and lightly press down with your hands. At this stage of work, it is already possible to form and beak, slightly flattening it. When finished, you can go back to the wings and correct the errors.
Form the tail. Cut a piece of mesh at an angle of 40-45 degrees and fix it with a solution. You can prop up something while it dries.
Also now it will be necessary to fix the head and leave the swan alone for about half an hour.
Then we continue to work on the tail. We smear it with a solution and with the help of a brush we form a roundness from below.
We make the top of the tail in several steps, periodically returning to making the neck with the head.
The upper uncovered cut of the flowerpots in the shoulder area is also covered with a layer of putty and flatten.
This is how the tail looks from the top.
And from the side.
This is our semi-finished product. Carefully inspect it and fix with a solution of putty all the defects. Now he will need to dry out completely in the sun. It will take about two days. At the end of this time, we will clean it first with a sandpaper for the plaster, and then a simple nulevka. We shall progruntate the preform before painting. And then we apply two layers of ordinary white enamel. Only the beak and the eyes draw appropriate colors. After painting, it is necessary to coat the surface with varnish, also in two layers.
