Game for schoolboys Mini-basketball
At the heart of the mini-basketball is modern basketball, adapted for children 8-11( 8-9 years old first group, 10-11 years old second).Matches for mini-basketball are held between two teams of five players( in addition to five reserve, which can be in each team). The goal of each team is to throw as many balls into the opponent's basket as possible, while respecting the rules of the game.
The basketball court( fig.) Is a rectangle 26 m long and 14 m wide. The lower edge of the shield is located at a height of 2 m 35 cm from the level of the platform. The width of the shield is 120 cm, the height is 90 cm. The height of the ring from the floor is 2 m 60 cm, diameter 45 cm. Players of the same team must have the same shape with numbers on the back and chest. Provided that the specified proportion of the marking is observed, the smallest dimensions of the site are allowed.
The game consists of two twenty-minute intervals, between which is given a ten-minute break. Each half is divided into two ten-minute periods with a mandatory break of 2 minutes. Each team player must participate in the game for a minimum of one ten-minute period.
If the ball hits the basket, two points are awarded to the team, if the ball is thrown with a free throw - one point.
The rules of the game do not differ significantly from those that are accepted in basketball for adults. It is forbidden to hit the ball with your fist or your foot, do more than two steps with the ball, tear your foot off the floor during the turns, drive the ball with both hands, resume driving, after the ball has been delayed by one or two hands( double lead). You can not stay more than 3 seconds in a three-second zone, when the team owns the ball. The team in possession of the ball is obligated to roll to the basket within 30 seconds. The ball must be entered into the game within 15 seconds, if it went beyond the boundaries of the site or after it hits the ring( the time is counted after the ball is received from the referee).
The team loses the ball for the above violations. He is thrown out because of the sideline at the place designated by the judge.
A personal error is considered for violations committed by the player in contact with the enemy. A player who has committed five personal errors is excluded from the game until the end.
With a simple( unintentional) personal error, the ball is thrown in from behind the sideline near the infringement site. If the violation is intentional, the judge grants the right to the victim to perform two free throws. Penalty shots are not assigned if, at the time of the violation, the player attacks the basket and throws the ball( a personal error is counted). For obvious rudeness, the player can be removed from the field to the end of the game with the right replacement.
It is important to monitor the fulfillment of the free throw conditions that the player must perform within 5 seconds after receiving the ball from the referee. The thrower does not have the right to go forward until the ball touches the shield or ring. Players located along the trapezium of the free throw( the players nearest the shield from both sides are occupied by the defending team players), do not have the right to enter the free throw area until the ball touches the shield or ring.
The referee in the mini-basketball is usually led by a field judge, a referee secretary( the leading account of the game, registering the players who have thrown the balls, and substituting the players) and a timekeeper who controls the playing time and notifies the judge about the end of each period.
By organizing mini basketball in the school, it is possible to reduce not only the generally accepted dimensions of the site, but also the size of the boards and the height of the baskets from the floor, which will help children without effort to acquire the right technical skills. Since mini-basketball does not require the victory of one of the teams, the game can end in a draw.
A judge may be lenient to violations that do not affect the further course of the game and do not put the offender in a favorable position. Rule 3 c, for example, can be counted only if there is a very high player and willfully staying in the three-second zone in anticipation of the ball. This also applies to rule 30 c.
