Before burying the ears of a child, heat the drops by lowering the medicine bottle into a bowl of hot water for a few minutes. Check the temperature of the drops by dripping them on the back of your hand, then wipe the outer ear canal with a cotton swab. Put the child on its side on a healthy ear( with a sick ear to the top);
with your right hand, draw a drop in the pipette, and on the left - grab the upper part of the auricle with two fingers, pull it perpendicular to the head and slightly down. Bury your child's nose more conveniently with the help of an assistant. The assistant can hold small children on hands that they were in a position of reclining. Older children can dig in the nose when they lie or sit with their heads thrown back.
Before entering drops, it is necessary to clean the child's nose of mucus and crusts. Kids clean their noses themselves with a cotton wick, and older children should blow their nose, releasing alternately the right
and the left nostril. Remember - for each nostril you need to use different wicks and at the same time you can not clean both nostrils.
Collect the drops in the pipette, slightly lift the tip of the child's nose, tilt his head to the side: when burying the right nostril - tilt the head to the left and vice versa. Try not to touch the pipette of the nasal mucosa.
Enter 2-3 drops of the drug, let the baby's head stay in the same position for 30-60 seconds, so that the drug is evenly distributed over the mucous membrane. In the same way, drip the second nostril.
If the child has acute respiratory disease or acute respiratory syndrome and a severe cold, it is necessary to ensure access to clean cool air to the child and to try to avoid drying out the nasal mucosa. To moisten the mucosa and dilute the viscous mucus, give the baby a normal saline solution in the nose. Overdose this solution is impossible, because it is part of the body. Bury it if necessary every 30-60 minutes for 3-4 drops in each half of the nose. If the disease developed sharply, and the pharmacy is far away, then the salt solution can be prepared by yourself - for 1 liter of warm boiled water add 9 grams of table salt( 1 teaspoon).
How to Bury Your Eyes
Put the baby on your back, take a piece of cotton wool in your left hand. Point the index finger of the left hand on the upper eyelid of the child, and the large one, with a piece of cotton wool placed under it, on the lower eyelid;Lower eyelid pull slightly down. With your right hand from the pipette, add 1-2 drops of the medication to the inner surface of the lower eyelid, closer to the outer( temporal) corner of the eye. Then remove your fingers from the eyelids. The eye is easily wiped away from the temple to the nose. Older children can be buried in the sitting position.
Some eye medicines are available as ointments. Put ointment in the eyes with a special glass rod, one end of which is flat, in the form of a spatula. Before use, treat the stick with boiling water. After cooling the wand on the area of the spatula, squeeze a small amount of ointment from the tube. As with the instillation of the eyes, pull the lower eyelid and carefully place the ointment over the edge of the eyelid at the outer edge of the eye. After that, the child should close his eyes, massage his eyelids lightly so that the medicine is evenly distributed. After pawning the ointment, the child should sit or lie for several minutes with closed eyes.
