    Epiphyllym hybrid is the result of crossing the original form of the epiphyllum( cactus from the humid tropics) with large-flowered species of ceresus and its close relatives: gilocereus and selenicereus.

    Root system is poorly developed, the stems are elongated, erect, with strongly pronounced ribs;a characteristic feature of the epiphyllum is the presence of "leaves" - leaf-like altered lateral shoots;buds are laid in areoles;flowers up to 20 cm in diameter, some species resemble camellia flowers, others have sharper petals. The active vegetation begins in late February.
