No matter how high and expensive your tulle was, it is still sooner or later, under the influence of time, dust and sunlight, oa takes a very unpresentable appearance. And this means that it's time to light it up! We will try to restore the tulle to its original appearance.

How to wash the tulle by hand

The first thing to do is remove the tulle from the window and shake it well. Do it best of all, of course, on the street. Because tulle, and in general all the curtains, is an excellent collection of dust.

The next step in washing tulle will be its soaking. Soak tulle curtains in warm water, with a temperature of about 36 degrees. Preliminary it is necessary to add to the water the usual edible salt. How much to strew? It all depends on the capacity in which you soak the tulle. The main thing is that the water is salty. You will be surprised when you see how dirty the water has become. Salt perfectly softens water and corrodes all pollution. Take away the lock for about an hour and a half.

If the time allotted to the lock is already out, then we take the tulle out of the water and rinse it thoroughly. A very important point! Tulle is afraid of hot water - from it it turns yellow and becomes stiff. So you need to rinse also in a little warm water.

Now the actual process of washing. It will be held in two stages.

    Stage №1

Pour into the basin clean and( again) a little warm water. Now we need a little vinegar - one tablespoon per liter of water. Vinegar is needed to ensure that after washing the tulle glistens and sparkles in the rays of sunlight. Stir well the vinegar in water, and add detergent. It is best to use a special powder for delicate fabrics, but if this is not available, then we take the very best quality. Powder we need quite a bit, since the tulle has the property of whipping a thick, thick foam, which then is not easy to rinse out. You can take powder for automatic machines. From him, there will be almost no foam. We put the tulle in the basin and proceed to the wash. Tulle is a capricious thing and requires delicate treatment. Therefore, when washing, it can not be twisted and rubbed in any case. It's enough just to squeeze it gently with your hands.

    Stage №2

Pour again into the basin of clean water. This time we need a blueprint. We make a slightly bluish solution and lower the tulle into the water. Gently stretch. After such washing your tulle will become as white and bright as immediately after purchase.

How to properly wash the tulle in the washing machine

There is not always an opportunity to tinker with a hand wash. Moreover, if it is such a three-dimensional thing, like tulle. If you, for example, wait for guests in the evening and you urgently need to clean up the house, then you can just wash the tulle in the washing machine. This is, of course, a washing machine. The activator type machine will most likely turn your tulle into a rag.

We take tulle( it is better to place it in a special bag for washing or a pillowcase) and put it in a washing machine. For washing, we also need a special powder for delicate fabrics. We include the most gentle washing mode without spin and wait. It's simple, is not it? That's just the effect of brilliance and snow-whiteness with this washing is unlikely to be achieved. In order that after washing in the car your tulle again becomes whiter than snow, you will have to use bleach. Bleach with chlorine is absolutely not suitable, but oxygen bleaches will come in handy. After washing, immediately hang the tulle on the cornice, and the folds formed during machine washing will be smoothed out by themselves.

What to do if nothing helps

If your tulle is already quite a few years old and yellowness is literally eaten into its fibers, then you can use heavy artillery. For the most difficult cases, we will need ammonia and hydrogen peroxide. This way is checked by our grandmothers. And, most importantly, almost no cost!

So, take one tablespoon of ammonia and two tablespoons of 3% peroxide. All this is poured into a bucket this time with hot water( believe me, your old tulle will not be worse, but the chance to rejuvenate it will appear a little) and carefully mix it with a wooden stick. All work must be done in rubber gloves( just in case). We lower the tulle into the solution so that it completely covers it. Leave the tulle in the bleaching solution for 15-25 minutes, then carefully rinse it.

You can try and less sparing way. To do this, already washed tulle should be soaked for 15 minutes in warm salt water, then lightly squeezed and immediately hung on the window. After such a procedure, the tulle will not only bleach, but will also acquire a sparkling effect, as after starching.

We are 100% sure that after such, for the most part, simple, but very effective advice, your tulle will always please the eye, both to you and guests of your home!
