  • Selecting the

  • satellite What is needed for satellite TV

  • Installing the satellite dish with your own hands

  • How to configure the satellite dish yourself

  • How to set up the satellite antenna tuner

  • More and more users are giving up cable television and prefer satellite. This is quite logical, since not always cable TV subscribers are satisfied with the list of cable channels. In addition, now wide-format TVs Full HD are in great demand and on a plan, on such TVs, it is necessary to watch HD-TV of high parity, and not analog cable, whose picture quality, to put it mildly, does not correspond. Yes, the issue can be solved through the connection of digital cable television, but again, the list of channels will be significantly cut, compared to what you can watch through a satellite dish, and in addition, the cost of a cable receiver is almost equal to the cost of satellite. Speaking about the private sector and the countryside, satellite TV is the only option for viewing a wide range of channels.

    Choosing a satellite

First of all, before installing a satellite dish, you must select a satellite TV operator, or rather a satellite, to which the antenna will be directed. For beginners, we will expand this issue in more detail.

So, the essence of satellite TV is that the signal of certain TV channels goes to a satellite that is in space, it is from this satellite that each subscriber receives a signal to his satellite dish. The signal received at the antenna is sent to the tuner( receiver), where the signal is processed, and for some channels it is decoded, and then comes in a "ready" form directly to the TV.The structure of the set of satellite equipment, for receiving a satellite signal, we will consider later, now we are interested in the choice of the satellite.

To date, both open and coded channels are being broadcast from the satellite. The channels can either be separately located on the satellite, or be included in the package of channels, which belongs to the satellite operator. Most of the satellite channels are coded so that subscribers pay money for their viewing. For the convenience of viewing a large number of channels from one satellite, and for a single payment for viewing them, there are satellite operators. Broadcasting of Russian-language channels is carried out from different satellites, which are in different positions. To receive a satellite signal, your antenna must be clearly pointing at the selected satellite. If the satellites you choose are close to each other, then most likely, you can receive the signal from both satellites on one antenna.

Thus, if you want to watch up to 30 free Russian-language channels, then we recommend sending your satellite dish to the Yamal 201 satellite. Also, there are other satellites with channels open for viewing, but they are not as full as Yamal. As for satellite TV operators, it is: the most popular operator is Tricolor-TV, the number of subscribers is growing at an intensive rate, it is also necessary to mention such a satellite operator which includes the largest list of channels - NTV-Plus and, of course, Raduga operator-TV.You can get acquainted with the list of channels and the cost of packages of these operators on their official websites.

So, initially you choose the type of satellite broadcasting: free or paid. To select a satellite with free channels, use the Frocus service.net, for the selection of paid packages - the official sites of satellite TV operators. If you have a widescreen TV, consider that some operators are already broadcasting in HD format.

Another nuance in choosing a satellite is the possibility to send a satellite dish to it. If the windows of your apartment go to the other side of the satellite, or if the house has interference in the form of trees or houses, then the antenna must be installed on the roof. If, for some reason and on the roof, the antenna is not installed, you will have to choose another available satellite.

What is needed for satellite TV

Once you have determined which satellite to receive the signal, and whether it is an open channel or it will be directly a satellite TV operator, you can purchase equipment for receiving a satellite signal.

The set of satellite equipment includes

    1. Receiver( tuner) - a device that receives, decodes and converts the signal for viewing on a TV.

    2. Antenna( dish) - is intended for reception of a signal from the satellite, the satellite signal is reflected from the antenna itself and is directed to the convector.

    3. Convector( head) - is required to receive a satellite signal reflected from the antenna, where the signal is converted and transmitted to the receiver.

    4. Bracket is a metal construction that is attached to the wall, and then to which the antenna itself is attached.

    5. Cable is a television coaxial cable that connects the convector to the receiver.

    6. DiSEq - if you receive a signal from several satellites on one receiver, then a dilex is used to connect the convectors to one cable.

    7. F-ki - connectors that serve to connect the cable with other satellite equipment.

    8. The connection cable between the receiver and the TV is tulips, SCART or HDMI cable.

Now let's talk a few nuances about the choice of equipment.

    Receiver

For details on how to select a satellite receiver, we told in a separate article, so if you have not already purchased it, then we recommend you read this article.

    Antenna

As for satellite antennas, the only thing you need to orientate with when buying is its diameter. In order to receive the signal from the majority of satellites, an antenna with a diameter of 90 cm is sufficient. If reception of a signal to the antenna is planned from several satellites, the antenna diameter depends on the degree distance of the satellites from each other.

    Convector

The polarization of the convector depends on the satellite: circular or linear. For example, to receive a signal from the satellite Eutelsat 36( Tricolor-TV and NTV-Plus for residents of the European part of Russia) we need a convector with circular polarization.

If you plan to watch satellite TV on two TVs( TV and computer), then to connect two receivers, purchase a convector with two outputs.

    Bracket

The bracket should be fastened to three or four anchors. The length of the leg should be such that you can freely rotate the antenna in the desired direction and it does not rest against the wall.

    Multi-Fidel

For multi-convector mounting on the antenna, use a multifid.

    Installing a Satellite Antenna Yourself

The first thing you need to do is build the satellite dish itself, how to do it in detail and visually tell this video.

Before installing the satellite dish, you must know exactly where the antenna should be directed, the Agsat service will help you.com.ua / satdirect. On the map, choose the place where you plan to install the antenna by checking the box there, select the satellite in the side column and you will be shown where to send the satellite dish. Before installing the antenna, we recommend that you check the reception of the signal without strengthening it, but holding it in your hands. If the signal quality from the satellite reaches 70%, then we turn to the antenna mounting.

When the location is determined and verified, with a perforator we make holes for fixing the bracket to the wall on the anchor. The size of the anchors should be chosen based on the material of the wall and the weight of the structure. After you have strengthened the bracket, we fix the antenna, but do not rush to tighten the nuts, because first we need to send the antenna.

How to configure the satellite dish yourself

At the time when the antenna is already on the bracket, we make the supply of a television cable to it.

How to connect a satellite dish

To connect the satellite antenna, screw the F-ku at the end of the cable. To do this, cut off the insulating layer of the television cable 1.5 cm from the edge, bend the screen braid in the opposite direction, cut the screen from the foil( 0,9-0,8 cm from the edge) which isolates the core of the cable and winds it onto the prepared end of the cable F-ku. If the cable core extends beyond the F-level by more than 0.2 cm, it is recommended that the excess be cut off. The same is done with the second end of the cable. Then, connect the first end of the cable to the convector, and connect the other end to the receiver, at the very end of the installation, as indicated in the instruction. If you have several convectors, first the cables from the convectors are connected to the dissec- tor, and directly from the dissec- tor one cable will go to the receiver.

So, when the antenna is fixed on the bracket and the cable is connected - we make the antenna tuning to the satellite. The direction of the antenna is compass based, the adjustment is based on the signal level menu in the receiver. One more moment when tuning the antenna is the necessary angle of its inclination relative to the horizon, each satellite has its own.

When you have achieved a high-quality signal reception level, firmly fix the nuts on the antenna and fasteners so that they do not unwind from wind and vibrations. Then fix the cable, so that he has nowhere to hang out. Directly from the convector, it is recommended to make a so-called loop from the cable so that the moisture flows down, and does not flow through the cable.

How to set up the tuner for the satellite dish

For a detailed description of the tuner settings, refer to the instruction manual. First, select the language menu of the receiver and check the version of its firmware, comparing it with the latest official version. If the latest firmware has significant changes and positive feedback from users - the receiver is better to reflash.

After this, you need to set the time, time zone, etc.in the channel search menu, select the satellite and enter its necessary settings( if you use the desec, then set the number of the input to which the convector directed to this satellite is connected).

Then output information about the signal level - this is exactly the information window and configure the antenna. When the antenna is tuned and the signal level is high, we scan the satellite. To open access to the channels, insert the operator access card.
