Tincture of Sophora
Its action extends to diseases such as diabetes mellitus, rheumatism, sepsis, hypertension, angina pectoris, hemorrhoids, hemorrhagic diathesis, gastritis and ulcerative colitis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, sclerotic degeneration of blood vessels and walls, kidney and liver diseases, capillary hemorrhagestoxic origin( taken with vitamin C, for example when poisoning with salicylates, arsenic preparations), typhus, diarrhea, thrombophlebitis, early stages of tuberculosis. Also this tincture has antihelminthic properties.
In addition to all of the above, this tincture is prescribed for the prevention of internal bleeding of various origins( for example, the retina of the eyes, the heart and the brain).Moreover, a wide external application of this tincture in the form of lotions for wetting tampons, napkins, compresses is also practiced. For example, in the treatment of furunculosis and carbuncles, scaly lichen, eczema, bruises, fungal diseases, lung and middle wounds, barley eyelids, with frostbite, trophic ulcers, mastitis, paraproctitis( inflammation of the cell around the cecum), withburns of 1,2 and 3 degrees of gravity, etc.
Still this tincture is used for irrigation of wounds, washing of purulent cavities, and in a diluted form( 5-10% aqueous solution) for lubricating the scalp - from hair loss.
Requires: dried or fresh fruits of sophora( beans) and alcohol 70% concentration.
Method of preparation. When making tinctures from fresh fruits, the sophores are poured with alcohol in a weight ratio of 1: 1. And if you use dried beans, the weight ratio of fruits and alcohol should be 1: 2.Fruits are placed in a bowl of dark glass and pour alcohol. Put it in a dark place at room temperature for 3 weeks. After the specified period, tincture filter, press and store in a bottle of dark glass in a cool dry place, protected from bright light.
How to use. How to apply tincture of Sophora outwardly, we indicated above. At internal application usually the following proportions are appointed: at the beginning of a course of treatment - 4-5 times a day on 10 drops, then it is necessary to make a gradual transition to the use 2-3 times a day for 1 tsp.
